Tux Racer and anyother game run bad.
I obtain this from running GLXGEARS : 65 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13.000 FPS 78 frames in 5.0 seconds = 15.600 FPS 78 frames in 5.0 seconds = 15.600 FPS 79 frames in 5.0 seconds = 15.800 FPS 77 frames in 5.0 seconds = 15.400 FPS 66 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13.200 FPS 77 frames in 5.0 seconds = 15.400 FPS ... OS = Fedora Core 1 Video Card = Geforce 4 MX440 nVidia driver = NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5328-pkg1.run kernel = 2.4.22-1.2149.nptl processor = AMD Athlon XP 1.8 Mainboard = MSI KT4 Ultra Memory = Samsung 512 MB DDR 2100 Please help!! ![]() |

Did you install the driver using the GCC 3.2 compiler? Your kernel is compiled with a diffferent version compiler (specific to Fedora) than your standard programs. You need to install with:
export CC=gcc32 sh ./NVIDIA.......run You must have the gcc32 package installed, so check for it with: rpm -q gcc32 It is also beneficial to remove the Mesa libGL files, since these are replaced by the nvidia installer (but sometimes the linking doesn't occur right; this leaves you with poor performance on the Mesa libs rather than the nvidia libs). If you remove the rpm, you may have to deal with other rpms that 'depend' on Mesa, but you'll have 3d running at least. rpm -e --nodeps XFree86-Mesa-libGL Last edited by LordMorgul; 01-23-04 at 02:25 PM. |
