Default no acceleration

Hi,
the installation of the nvidia drivers did work without any problems, no crashes, no errors in logfiles, everything fine. But there is no 3d acceleration in gl programs (e.g. tuxrace). I have checked that all symlinks are ok and no mesa gl library is present. glxinfo prints

direct rendering: Yes
[...]
OpenGL renderer string: GeForce3/AGP/3DNOW!/forceSW

If someone has any idea, please help!

What happens when you "cd" to the directory with the tuxrace binary and run "ldd tuxrace" Is it linking to the proper libraries? (ie: libGL.so.1 libGLcore.so.1)

I have put the information in the attached file.
One additional note: The readme file of the driver says that xdpyinfo should list GLX, NV-GLX and NVIDIA-GLX, but NVIDIA-GLX is missing.

This doesn't look good:

Status: Enabled
Driver: AGPGART (inactive)
AGP Rate: 4x
Fast Writes: Disabled
SBA: Disabled

I haven't came across inactive before. Tune the Option "NvAGP" to another of "0", "1", "2" in your XF86Config (Section Device).

The (inactive) indicates that AGPGART configured the chipset, but isn't currently in use; this happens if you start X with AGPGART, shut it down and start it again with AGP disabled.

Setting "NvAGP" to "0" did it. Now it works
