problems with fx5700 in suse 9
hello,
friday i've bought the Geforce FX5700. i tried to install this thing in linux. that wasn't to difficult but now my system lock-up after 10 minutes. it doesn't mather if i call the card fx5600 fx5800 or vesa (sax2 doesn't know the fx5700) it allways hungs :-( . is this card to new for xfree or suse? can anybody help me out? by the way i'm using suse 9 with kernel 2.4 |

Your 5700 isn't too new for the current drivers (5336). Try using the vesa or nv drivers; if crashes still happen your problem probably isn't your video card.

well allright then i've no crashes (with vesa) but no 3d so that's also not a real sollution to me.

I suspect an old kernel. Do you have or have you upgraded to 2.4.24?
