Default Any word on Geforce 4 drivers for PPC?

I have a 17" LCD iMac and looking forward to trying Linux. As I understand it this isn't possible until Geforce4 drivers are available for PPC linux. Is this the case and is there any word when such drivers might be available?

There won't come official Linux PPC drivers. You will be stuck to the simple Xfree86 nv driver. So no OpenGL and other things.

I'd like to see what people (especially nVidia developers) think about this:
