Question console issue

I've just upgraded driver to latest version. I'm still experiencing the "console problem": switching from X to any console I got purple and left-traslated text on first X startup, and it becomes a white, blinking hell if I restart X (e.g. unlogging to kdm).
Have been found a workaround to this problem?

I had a similar problem and fixed it by changing the vga= value in my grub kernel boot file (/boot/grub/menu.lst).

It was vga=0x314 and I changed it to 0x31a. This should correspond to 1280x1024 but ends up spitting out something like 640x480. I'd rather have 640x480 than garbled text so I'm happy.

Alternatively, there is a lot of discussion in thread 23506--"XFree 4.3 garbles text consoles" that might help you out.
