Default 3D Hardware support

After realizing that linux was running slow because I did not install the nvidia drivers. Now that i have downloaded and installed the latest drivers, i still am not able to enable 3d hardware support. Help!


Here is the requested info
-vid card- Asus v8200 Deluxe Gf3 Ti200
-driver version- 1.0-5328
-distribution- Redhat 9
-video bios- 03.20.00.18.00
-processor- Athlon XP 1700
-motherboard- MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU


Attached is my XFree86 Log file, but it created 2 files XFree86.0.log and XFree86.1.log

Had the same problem (AMD, NVIDIA driver 5328)

Solved it by installing an older driver 4363 !




...Perhaps NVIDIA should release a new driver that works on all machines not just one...

It does and besides alot of people insist on updating the drivers for the sake of it, I think the 4620's are the best by far.

i tried the older drivers and the enable 3d hardware support box is still grey

HELP!

The Driver enables 3D support directly, you don't have to activate nothing
