Internal memo from Best Buy noting a july release date. Could easily be faked, but still fun.

Hmm, looks like the notification papers I remember seeing when I worked at Best Buy. Certainly could be real. Though check the date...isn't it a little old? Oh well, still a good sign.

A few different sites are showing 6/1, 6/15, and a few wisely say they will post a date when id announces one.

I'm not sure who to believe... so I won't believe any of them.

I almost bet 6/1 is the date that id told activision would happen if everything goes wrong during the development, so i expect it sooner!

I think the 6/1 date might just be a representation of "2nd quarter 2004", rather than a real date. 6/15 could certainly be a real date, however at this point noone, not even John Carmack, can be sure of the game's release date. I'm guessing maybe July or August, depending on how it goes. But hey, at least we'll probably see it this year!

Just face it, at this point, neither half life 2 or doom 3 are going to ship at all so stop speculating. All those stupid "screenshots" were made by some fool in his basement having fun.

Then who made all them oh-so-often leaked alpha demos of the games

Now if only someone would leak Duke Nukem Forever so that we could be sure THAT game is actually in development
