Sorry to hear about your trouble with the 5800. The 5800Ultra is (still) a very nice card even today, and will likely overclock higher than the vanilla 5800 would have anyway, if you're into that sort of thing - I hope you get one in good working condition.
-Still has the highest fill-rate (multitexturing) of any video card ever produced! over a year after it's introduction- amazing piece of hardware. Mine will be included in my 'Video Card Museum' when I finally stop playing with it.

Eh, oh well, huh?

I would say it was only worth trying to save it because of the investment you made. The card itself it's worth going through hell to get it to work.

Hey if you're still intrested in getting rid of it just post here again and i'll reply. You've tried all available solutions to no avail?

The person you bought it from, did he say the card was fully functional?

I agree it's a cool card, but my only option left was to steal one from Abit by lieing to get an RMA. I wasn't the original owner, had no receipt, and the card may well have been damaged by the rocket scientist shipping it to me in an envelope.

None of the above is Abit's fault or responsibility. I've moved on, have a 5800U arriving today or tomorrow.

He didn't say it wasn't, and then said "it must have been damaged in shipping". It is available and useless.
