DVI to VGA adaptor
very quick question,
the DVI-VGA adaptor that came with my geforce FX 5600 which works fine for dual monitor/twinview.
Is it likely to be a standard converter that can be used on any Nvidiav gfx card ?
I wanted to get a dual monitor to work with a cheap gf4 mx 4000 128mb as it has a VGA and DVI connector but no adaptor bundled with it.
When using the DVI-VGA adaptor described above the second monitor acts if there is no signal.
If the DVI-VGA converter is not universal, is there such a thing ?
Or is it more likely the DVI port on my card is knackered?

Re: DVI to VGA adaptor
There are different types of DVI ports. (I don't know the actual names by head)
You have a type of DVI connector that contains both digital and analog signals and for this type a convertor can be used to convert it to normal D-SUB (vga-connector). If you have a digital-only DVI connector you can't easily connect a monitor to it.
