Default Can nvidia 32bit driver co-exist with 64bit drivers

Hi,

I am using nvidia x86_64-5332 on Dual Opteron with the Quadro FX3000
But I want to run SGI's Performer for Linux on this box and that app is 32bit.

In order to get 3D acceleration, I'd like to proper nvidia 32bit driver in there as well.
Unfortunately, the x86-5336 installer refuses to install, even if i --extract-only and make install.

Does anyone have any idea or have managed to install 32bit NV drivers onto a AMD64 OS?
Thks!

I have yet to get the 32 bit drivers on 64 bit hardware at all, they keep crashing my machine on loading the module.

One fella mentioned he got em working but I just can't see it, the incompatibility is from the code, not options/kernel/hardware/agp crap. I hope someone does prove me wrong.

Thumbs up Re: Can nvidia 32bit driver co-exist with 64bit drivers

Well, I have ever gotten 32bit Fedora Core 1 running on Dual Opteron with NVIDIA drivers all in....

Running very fast.... everything was smooth... vanilla NVIDIA drivers from NVIDIA site...

I wish there was more I could do. Literally I've tried a dozen kernels with different options (acpi/noacpi apic/noapic fb/nofb agpgart/noagpgart). With this I've tried 2 different distros.

I guess its my hardware that doesn't agree with the nvidia drivers. I would be happy to be a testbed for the good folk at NVidia if they want to test these 32 bit drivers on 64 bit architectures. As one last shot I will also update my BIOS though I don't expect anything to come from that.

If anyone else could suggest anything I havn't done I'll be glad to try!
