Default Gaming Problems

I need help!!! I am having problems running Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, Deus Ex 2 and Far Cry. All these games have serious pause up issues when I try to play. Even if I turn off anti aliasing, crank the resolution way down still have the same problems. How can I find out where the problem is? My system specs are:

OS Service Pack Service Pack 1
Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106 (IE 6.0 SP1)
DirectX 4.09.00.0902 (DirectX 9.0b)

Motherboard:
CPU Type AMD Athlon XP, 1533 MHz 1800+
Motherboard Name Soltek SL-75DRV5-E
Motherboard Chipset VIA VT8367 Apollo KT333
System Memory 512 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM)

Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 (64 MB)
3D Accelerator nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200
Monitor Sceptre D73A (843197)

Multimedia:
Audio Adapter Creative SB Live! Sound Card

Input:
Keyboard Standard 101/102-Key Keyboard
Mouse Microsoft USB IntelliMouse Explorer

I appreciate any help.

I think its the card dude, even on my 9700 Pro or a geForce FX 5700 U, Deus Ex2 is crappy...
try this texture pack which i supposed to help out.

SC - slow on my 9700 Pro too with fps at like 30s-40s no aa etc

Far Cry - this beats down any currently available high end GPU at high settinge...nevermind a 4200

Yes and no. Coincidentally, all 3 games mentioned happen to want a very good card to run smoothly and yes your card seems to be the bottleneck. One of those, (Deus Ex 2) is totally unpredictable in terms of performance (ie it can run badly on a high-end system and alot better on a old one). Especially for IW and FC, applying the patches (if you haven't already) should give you a big performance boost.

Patch 1.2 is recommended for IW in particular but only apply that if you have the American version. If you have the European DVD version, it will corrupt your installation. I saw big gains with the 1.1 patch in my American version. Now if you have the European version of the game, it should already be patched to V1.2. In that case, the only way to make it run better would be to disable the real-time shadows option. Also, the texture pack that MUYA (just don't support again what i'm saying man ) suggested replaces lots of in-game textures but it backfires on performance. Loading times may increase significantly and you should have a drop-off in fps too. Apply it only if you can run it smoothly.

And thats the main reason I don't play DX2, because I can NOT get it to run right.
