Default nVidia Quadro FX 3000 and OpenGL overlay problem in RedHat Enterprise Linux

Hi There,

I have been working in SGI Onyx environment and recently has switched to Linux for the purpose of running 3D visualization/rendering applications.

We purchased a system -please see attachments for detailed info- that has nVidia Quadro FX 3000 graphics card in it.

I ported my codes from Irix environment to Linux and the compilation was successfull.

The application uses Volumizer (SGI volume rendering API, available also for Linux now) and Qt.

When I try to run Opengl overlay examples from Qt or my application, I received a message saying 'this system does not support OpenGL overlays', but in nVidia documents, it says that this graphics card's GPU supports hardware openGL overlay planes.

I also attached kernel and nVidia drivers info on the system for your review.

Does any one know how I can get around this problem?

Thanks in advance...

Ahmet

Check the Nvidia README. There are a dozen of Quadro specific options. Three of them are related to Overlay (it are boolean options): "Overlay", "CIOverlay" and "OverlayDefaultVisual".

I hope this helps, if not contact linux-bugs@nvidia.com
