Default installing nvidia from source

hi

after installing the files do i do a depmod somewhere or something.
i remember reading it but cant find it again.
is there anything else i may need to do

You need to make sure your /etc/modules.conf is set up correctly (make sure there's one line aliasing something to NVdriver -- if something's there, then it doesn't matter what it is, it should be right), and then run depmod -a, yes. Whenever you change modules.conf, you should re-run depmod -a.

just one thing, do i have to be in a particular directory when i do depmod or could i do it from anywhere.
