Default SuSE and MX400 = enemies? :))

Since SuSE 8.2 and nVIDIA 4363, I could not get my Geforce2-MX400 working in 3D, with sax2 my screen freezes for almost 5minutes, meanwhile it flickers for 3-4 times then it returns to normal, I do all the settings I need and seems to be OK (though, very slow) - then, when I try to start my KDE interface, after displaying the nVIDIA logo, the X server is crashing.

I saw Andy's advice about upgrading the Bios on my video card, but this is not an option for me, the chipset is not supported by the nvflash utility.

Video card: GeForce2 MX400
card ID: EA/GF400 64/128, E0 31100088
Bios version:
Bios chipset: PMC MFTWQ, Pm37LV512-7oj

Operating system: SuSE 9.1
System: Gigabyte GA-6OXT-A, 512MB RAM, Intel 1000EB processor

Could you PLEASE help me getting back my 3D? )
SuSE 9.0
GeForce MX400
