Default GeForce FX cannot display to my Zenith C32V36

Upon boot of the system with the GeForce FX 5700 LE, having been hooked up to the DVI, it's as if the screen is folded in half and flickery. The mouse pointer if mirrored vertically about 25% of the distance of the screen, as well as the screen being short.

I'm using nvidia-kernel-1.0.5336-r3 and nvidia-glx-1.0.5336-r2 on gentoo, and have tried both XFree86 and Xorg. My HDTV is here and here's the manual. I'm using a monster DVI cable, but I don't think that is a plausible problem area.

Is this an "HDCP version incompatibility" thing? I hope not, as this stupid DVI cable was 'spensive, and I just woudn't know what to do.

I've attached my xorg.conf, the verbose log, etc etc.
More info:
Video card BIOS: 04.36.20.30.01
CPU: Athlon XP 2400+
MOBO: ASUS A7V600
Attached Files
File Type: txt xorg.conf.txt (4.5 KB, 111 views)
File Type: txt Xorg.0.txt (30.4 KB, 99 views)

Wonder if it isn't the following from this URL

Nope, the dvi port on your graphic car is different than the DVI found on home theater tv's. they look the same, plug in fine, but don't work. i believe the zenith you have has a RGB input, that should work.

only graphic card i know of that uses a dvi that works with tv's is the radeon 9800 pro, maybe geforce's latest and greatest will work, but last i checked it was just the top of the line radeon
Or... is it the HDCP? Anyone??? Someone must have done this...
