Cool [debian + nvidia] 3 days with "Unable to determine the NVIDIA kernel module filename"

Hi guys, im posting here cause im really coming crazy

i managed to compile the module with my knoppix and pretty sure of myself tried to install debian woody.
Everything was fine but the damn drivers
Thus i tried with the sarge, and it did not work much better.

here is what i've done:

installed debian sarge with 2.4.25 kernel
installed packages kernel-source-2.4.25
installed kernel-headers-2.4.25 ( not working better with those )
tried to link the kernel-source-path
tried to argument it to the .run file

I just managed to get some other error messages ( like "unable to find source tree" as i didnt link it to /usr/src/linux or passed it )

Once i could see the evolution blue bar progress and got a "nvidia.o error (probably the bad kernel source)"

Than :
i installed a new kernel image with sources package
got grub updated
rebooted the new kernel and retrying again and again

could not see the blue bar anymore and now i tried many ways to install those but now im stuck with the "Unable to determine the NVIDIA kernel module filename" error message.

please help me i feel so

hum,
ok i finally found it while exporting new logs

my problem was solved by :

cleaning some existing kernel packages (source headers),

reinstalling only package : kernel-headers-2.4.25-1-386
linking it : /usr/src# ln -sf kernel-headers-2.4.25.1-386 linux
launching installer : /root/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run
not forgeting to edit the XF86Config-4 file

i think i could be a little more precies on what is expected for "sources" by the installer, but i guess its because I AM

sorry for this useless post, i made it much detailed to help so lame users as me
cya all

try this....
apt-get install kernel-headers-$(uname -r)

do this from your updated kernel....

this should put the kernel headers in /usr/src/.....

now in the directory location where you have the NVIDIA run file

sh NVIDIA*

you should be able to see the install ..

dont forget to modify /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
by commenting our load dri and load glcore
change the driver name to nvidia....
