official drivers & FX 5700 & TV
I've got a FX 5700 under Linux. The TV out does not work with the official drivers (1.0-5336, 1.0-5328).
The message #6 of the thread "5700 & twinview & tv" gives me a solution with the driver 4620 (from http://www.sh.nu/download/nvidia ). But this is only a temporary workaround as this driver is not on the nvidia archive and therefore is in an unknown state for me.
I've chosen an Nvidia graphics card for its official support of Linux, I hope to get it.
Is there a correction planned for the latest drivers on that problem and by the way is there a bug id for it?
1) the Readme of the lastest version gives an invalid mail : firstname.lastname@example.org
2) the lastest drivers give strange information in the log:
(--) NVIDIA(0): Detected TV Encoder: Unknown NVIDIA
(II) NVIDIA(0): Enabled display device(s): TV-0 (II) NVIDIA(0): Supported TV
(II) NVIDIA(0): TV Standard: PAL-M, NTSC-M, or NTSC-J: 0x0
(II) NVIDIA(0): TV Standard: PAL-BDGHI, PAL-N, or PAL-NC: 0x0
(II) NVIDIA(0): TV Standard: HD480i: 720x480
(II) NVIDIA(0): TV Standard: HD480p: 720x480
"0x0" makes no sense, "Unknow NVIDIA" is stranged.
3) I've tested with older drivers like 1.0-4496. In that case a mode is selected but the image on the tv screen is unusable.
