Unhappy Question ( GF 4200 Ti, Debian )

I'll try to introduce my problem.

I have nvidia 4200 Titanium .. with tv-out . My linux - debian 2.4.24-1-686

I want to do with my 4200:
first (the easiest I think) - I want to run XFree86 in background. The XF86Config-4 is configured to put display at my TV .. When I run that, I can see blank screen at my LCD monitor. Now .. when I don't click at the ctrl+alt+F1 for example to see the text console the picture from the TV disapearning .. and here is my question:
Is it possible to put the picture to my tv in detached mode ? I'm thinking about switching between text consoles without loosing the picture (movie for my wife :-) at the TV.

Please help..

Thank you in advance
