Default DVI mode TFT monitor hangs for seconds

Dear experts,

I am new to the forum and hope to find help on the following issue:

I recently installed a linux-workstation with Dual Intel Xeon processors and a
GeForce FX5200 graphics card and SuSE9.1.

I connected an Iiyama ProLite LCD-monitor to it.

However, if I connect it with the standard-D-sub cable, it flickers horribly. I tried to switch to the DVI-cable. For this I edited the XF86Config-file (see below).

After restarting X, the flickering was gone, however, the monitor now blackens frequently (when a new window is opened, when a website shows an animation, sometimes on scrolling...)

Is there anything I can do to solve this or find out what's wrong?

(Config- and log-files are attached)

Thanks for any help,
