Default Linux and NV40

When will nvidia driver be avalible for NV40? I will get my self a 6800U and what I know the current 53.32 drivers dont work. I run gentoo 64bit by the way for amd64 processors.

Best Regards Patrik Alowersson

Default Re: Adding myself to those waiting

With Doom III right around the corner, I too would like to purchase a 6800 Ultra, but will not do so until the linux drivers are available. It's the only platform I utilize and I would hate to have to purchase a NV35 for Doom, for it would prohibit my upgrade path to any NV4x based card. I typically skip generations of cards between upgrades (I have a GF3 in my dual Athlon right now), but after reading Tom's (http://www.tomshardware.com) review, I'm anxious to pony up the huge entry free for the 6800 Ultra. I am, as are most of my linux contemporaries, unwilling to do so, by principle, until it's supported. So, please nVidia, help me spend my $500 on your new GPU!
