Question TwinView Issues

I have been trying to figure out the answer to my problem for a few days now. My ultimate goal is to have both of my monitors act as one giant desktop. I have gotten twinview to work, however it only replicates what I see on my CRT to my flatpanel. I'm pretty sure twinview can do what I want it to, perhaps I am wrong though. Anyhow, I will post my configuration as I have left it. I have tried many different settings, and most don't allow me to boot my x server or only allow me to see the desktop on my CRT. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and one last thing. It doesn't seem to allow my FlatPanel to load if I don't specifiy the coordinates in the MetaModes Section.

Thanks.

since your config looks ok, the first thing i think of is a quote from the readme:
The TwinView feature is only supported on NVIDIA GPUs that support
dual-display functionality.............

if you confirm that, i would make a backup of what you got, just make a copy of the config file, and start over. in rh/fc it is system-config-display or setup, and more generally i think the command is X --configure, which puts a config file in your home directory. i have never run mandrake. then set the minimum options:
change the driver from nv to nvidia
load glx
#load dri
#load GLcore
Option "TwinView"
Option "MetaModes" "1024x768,1024x768"
Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "31.0 - 95.0"
Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "50.0 - 120.0"

the above is what i have except i have 128x1024 and i think it works the way you want it to.

"getting back to the basics" has always helped me.

good luck
