Well, that is because Apple is owned by Microsoft. So they need to keep it alive,and make some money out of its customers, too.

I get 10 fps slower in linux with the botmatch benchmark, but 5fps faster in linux with flyby! My processor is relatively slow (850) but why is Linux so much less processor efficient than 98 for UT2003?

What services are you running in Linux. Disable all of those things you'llnever use, like sendmail, crond if you dont use it, ntfs, nfs lock, etc....

My games run way smoother in Linux.

I've tried disabling loads of things - including those you mentioned and running Window Maker insetad of KDE3 and it seems no faster and is still running slower in Linux. Is there anything else I can do?
