Default 6800 Ultra Probles (and Fixing Them) - Read

Guys,

If your having problems with the 6800Ultra, it may be the bios that your card provider installed prior to shipping your board. It seems that many people have had problems with many different cards. My Point of View card was one of them. After flashing the card with their upgrade rom the card is stable (and clocked 25MHz higher).

Just to give you an idea, my machine's uptime is 48 minutes now - before upgrading the bios, I'd get maybe 10 if I was lucky. Furthermore, I've played UT2004 in fullscreen mode and exited and returned to X, and have run the euphoria screen blanker (OpenGL full screen textures) for ~20 minutes...

Have a look at forums.overclockers.co.uk for details.

If you don't have a copy of MSDOS hanging around to do the flash installation, get freedos: http://www.freedos.org .

Good luck!
