I find it very irritating that they give all of the credit to one guy with things like this. Even the movie directors they talk about...

Its kinda rediculous. Yeah Carmack is probably a genius... i say probably because probably only a handfull of people actually know (those who have worked along side him). What exactly does it take to be a genius at designing engines?

Im not doubting his ability... but... none of us really know, so why does everyone say hes god?

It's not a cool article. It's a dumb, drugerous read that only serves to show just how annoying and prolific marketing is. It also proves the theory that marketers are well behind the 8 ball. It would have made more sense for that POS to be released a week prior to DOOM3.

It's funny how things are slower than they were why I was a games journo limited to print media. :P
