Default Flashlight Artifacts

Does anyone know what causes this and how to solve it? It seems to happen when i stare closely at a wall with my flashlight. Any help would be gladly appreciated

I'm on a Geforce 4 MX-440-SE using 44.03 running on high performance setting. Doom 3 is set at low quality @ 640X480. VSync has no effect.

Yeah update your drivers. Those are pretty old and may have compatibility problems with a game as new as Doom 3.

I'm on the latestish drivers(65.62) and get the same problem on my work machine (GF4 MX440).

I think it's down to the lack of perpixel lighting/shading on the card.

Yea, I guess so. Drivers don't seem to make a diff.
