All I can say is the engine (and the gameplay IMO) is terrible. I played the demo and I couldnt run it above 1024x768 with 8xAF without getting unplayable frame rates in battles. Plus, the game looks really bad, so it makes the low framerates more irritating.

After playing the demo for about an hour I uninstalled and never looked back... no game that looks like that should run that bad on a 6800GT.

Runs great for me. It's not really THAT ugly. It looks just like Black Hawk Down.

As a matter of interest ATi, what are the detail settings you're running on? Apparently with everything maxed out, the X800 XT PE really begins to chug as well, so if you're expecting perfect performance at 16 x 12, everything to highest, AA & AF as well, you may be sorely disappointed.

That said, it runs fine for me with most stuff on - but I've never really been one for ridiculous resolutions anyhow. (I tend to run games at 1024, or 1280 at absolute tops if I feel it gives me a significantly better picture).

Ridiculous DOES not have an 'e' in it. It comes from "ridicule" and has less than nothing to do with the colour red.

I can run the game at max settings, 1280x1024 with 2x AA and Trilinear filtering. At this resolution I get around 50fps when there is little action, when online the fps drops as low as 25 fps.

BTW - the game is already full of cheats so I don't like playing it. Not to mention Nova totally screwed snipers over where a bunch of n00bs wanted to whine and complain.

Back to BF:V.
