Default CAVEAT EMPTOR - buyer beware

EDITED

You may want to do some investigating before you count on NVIDIA APU audio. There are some boards that require the manufacturer drivers and cannot use the unified nForce drivers from NVIDIA.

For example, the Chaintek nForce2 board doesn't actually use NVIDIA audio, according to the NVIDIA Audio Marketing guy I spoke with this morning.

Thanks for the info, ricercar! I decided to check into that and went to nVidia's unified Nforce drivers. Good news for me, the audio drivers will work with my motherboard! Here's the info:

"Audio drivers will not install on the following nForce2 products: ASUS A7N8X and Chaintech 7NJS. Please use the drivers that come with these products to enable audio functionality. "

So I guess that means I won't be havin any trouble with my Leadtek board

They can be forced on the ASUS board, you just lose some functionality. I suspect its easy enough to customize them..and ASUS will quickly enough. So hey.
