I don't mean to be ungreatfull, but more often than not the nVidia drivers have been broken and have not kept up on kernel releases.

I am very dissapointed: (

I am using my computer to show a group of veterens a 3D historic recreation on my computer this weekend. I don't have time to tweak this on every boot. Now, I have to boot my aging Win2000 Harddrive, but maybe that is what Nvidia wants.

Nvidia doesn't even treated like the Windows ones on the download page, and I feel, they aren't given as much attention : (

You can set that at boot time, I will let you know how when I end up in nix to try it before giving advice. You could add that line to any file in /etc that is run at startup (an init file) but there is a specific place it should go... I'll post back.

Examine the file /etc/sysctl.conf

Append:
vm.legacy_va_layout =1

(I'm not running a 2.6.8 kernel yet, so... I actually cannot check that this works, it should tho)

I also am noticing atrifacts in SuperTux which weren't there before.

Is there going to be a driver update?

nVIDIA updates the driver about every 6 months, this one was released on August 5, 2004 so I would not expect an update until around January.
