I've had this game just over a week now, and it is by far the best driving game i've ever played, and i've played a lot! It's quite a hardcore rally sim, but it's so rewarding when you master the cars. This game deserves any driving game fan's attention, i usually prefer the more forgiving arcade style racers, but this has really converted me.
I don't know if that "Photorealism my arse!" chap is still around here, but maybe he'd be inclined to agree for this game. Here's a few pics, 1280x1024 2xAA 8xAF as i play at, but resized to 1024x768 jpeg quality 5 for the sake of the 56k'ers. It's my replay from the UK harwood stage for anyone who knows the game. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and by far my favourite of the set - ![]()

There are no excuses to use 2d trees now that instancing is available. Any game that comes out now with 2d objects just shows the developers lazyness to program a decent game

Have you played the Xpand Rally demo and if so, how does RBR compare to that?

2D trees look fine if they're at a high enough resolution, perhaps better than 3D ones in terms of realism when they don't pixelate, as they look more natural, especially when you're seeing them fly by at a lowest speed of 50mph.
I tried the xpand rally sp and mp demos, and they were fun, but the cars still had that floaty feeling like cmr04/05, a bit arcade-ish. I actually prefer rbr's graphics to xpand rally's too. Can't wait for Flatout tho. ![]()
