Default switching to DVI operation - GeForce FX 5600

Hello,

along with my GeForce FX-5600 card I got a windoze CD which apparantly has
a nvidia utility for chosing which port, VGA or DVI, should be "primary". Is there
anything available under linux to do this, I must I install !@#$^% windoze
somewhere?

thanks,

Rob Urban
