Whitebox install freezing on welcome/in graphical mode
Hi all. I've had some experience with linux in the past but not so much with the boot options and troubleshooting problems right off the bat. I installed Whitebox 3, Respin 1 (2004.06.16) and it froze everytime it went into graphical mode to install so I retried and used text mode. I successfully installed the os but forgot to remove the 'default to graphical boot' and now it locks up within 10 seconds of loading x-windows; I have to hit reset. I can't click on the "back/next" option on the main page w/o it freezing and it will freeze even if I don't click on it.
I want to do some linux development (BES) and maybe play some games but I obviously can't if I can't troubleshoot this initial problem. Any help getting out of graphical mode/turning off any options that may allow me to boot properly would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yeah, I tried the noapic/lapic (or whatever it was) options as I read somewhere in the forum but it didn't help, just took longer to load and still the same time to freeze up upon reaching the welcome screen.
