Default Unreal Tournament 2004 on x86-64

Hi

I'm running the x86-64 port of FC2.
I just installed UT2004 (full retail version), applied the latest patches: ut2004-lnxpatch3323.tar.bz2
and I have latest NVidia drivers (6111) for x86-64
The 64bit chromium and tuxracer run fine.
UT shows its splash screen, attempts to switch modes and then the machine hangs or reboots
:-(
I contacted icculus.org and they said it must be a bug in the nvidia or agp drivers...

Best Regards,
darkprok

I think I remember seeing something similar on the ut2004@icculus.org mailing list and it wasn't a bug, it was some mislabeled files from the patch (I think, I'm not positive). Anyway, look at the archives you might find the answer there.

Tried redirecting output to see what happens ?
ut2004 > /tmp/ut2004.out
or
ut2004 2> /tmp/ut2004.err

And when it reboots, read the /tmp/ut2004.* files

I got the same problem and the reason was gkrellm, not the nvidia drivers.
The game seems to hang on black screen, but if you wait some minutes it will go on.
After shutting down gkrellm all went well.

I had to run the ut2004-bin-linux-amd64 executable to make it work properly.

I overwrite the default ones in the System directory with the 64 bit versions... either way I guess.
