Maybe this was already answered but, will the enhancements in the expansion pack effect the levels in the original game? For example, if I wait till the expansion comes out, then buy it and the original, will i get these improved effects all the way through?

What a disappointment. Trying to run this game above 1280x1024 resolution results in terrible performance. The original game runs perfectly at 1600x1200. I expected there to be a performance hit, but not one this great. Plus the levels take for-bloody-ever to load. I tried to resume my game after I died and the loading time to get back into the action was completely unacceptable.

I might pick this up when it hits the bargain bin, but otherwise I'm going to pass.

I think the demo is OK. Ran it at 1024X768 without a problem. Does the game seem to load slow to you guys?

Yes, this is another issue I noticed. Painkiller had very short loading times compared to other games. It seems that the loading time with this demo is way longer than the original.

It loads like ****...and a constipated **** at that.

Seriously the load time has tripled, and it feels slugish to play, can anyone say mouse lag.

Yes , as i understood you'll get the original Painkiller with the new features plus the extra new 10 levels coming with the expnasion .
i think its a great deal for those who didnt buy Pk yet

& yes .. loading does take longer time for me now!

But it does look very nice, the HDR effect is quite nice, kind of like the "bloom" effect in Deus EX2.

It's not only kind of like the bloom effect of Thief 3 and Deus Ex 2 but it rather is the bloom effect and not HDR. Also SM3.0 support has not yet been confirmed for the latest demo.

Someone with 3D Analyzer can surely check it out it he has some spare time...

I get that mouse lag too . it makes the game sluggish & a bit hard to control . i tried changing the mouse sensetivity & smoothing but couldent get rid of that lag.

I tried the game to see what all the fuss is about.
I'm sorry to say but, to me the game is average at best, in fact it's extremely boring and linear and reminded me of games I used to play years ago.

Well this game appeals to many since it has that old school FPS feel to it, like the original Doom and Serious Sam. I played it in small spurts and appreciated the mindless action and nice eye candy. Not a great game but fun if I played it for small periods at a time.
