hello all,
i just purchased the 6800GT in hopes of seeing some improvement over my previous X800Pro. i have a fx53 system with 1GB of Corsair memory. before, with the X800Pro i was scoring 11,200 in 3dmark03. i just ran 3dmark with my new 6800GT at 400/1100 and only scored 11,300. what gives? is this a normal score with the 6800GT? i thought people were hitting well over 12k with average type systems. i am using the 61.77's from nVidias website. any help is appreciated. |

Odd.I get around 12ish with those clock speeds.
Did u uninstal all the previous Cat drivers using Drivercleaner? Also, try to see if the Image settings on the Nvidia control panel are to Quality or High Quality. It does have an inpact on Benchmarks

yeah, i set it to high performance and it made about a 200 point difference. still, thats very low for this card. 11,500?
i might just have to do a reformatt with this new card. as much as i hate to, thats probably what i need to do. |

I eventually reformatted my computer after struggling with low benchmarks when I switched from an ati 9700 pro to a 6800 gt and that helped a lot...I was hitting 10k on 03 with a decent overclock and after the format I got in to the 12k range with ease. So defiantly give that computer a cleaning

Hate to say this but the 61.77 is the slowest driver I've tried so far with my new GT.

Thats what I was getting dude. I was like why the **** am i scoring so low in 03 with an A64 @ 2.5 and a GT?! I narrowed it down to Coolbits. For some reason, that thing was screwing up my scores. I uninstalled my drivers, and reinstalled them and ran 3dmark03 with my card at stock speeds. Went from 10,500 to 11,800 stock. OCing got me to 12,800. This is at 400/1100 though, for some reason, my card cant OC higher anymore ( used to do 430/1150 ) I just use powerstrip for my OCing needs
