New stand alone.

The game is built upon the MOHTech engine which started from the Quake3 engine. About 99% of the Quake 3 engine is removed/modified/replaced.

They now incorporate the Havoc physics engine.
In the beginning I posted that they were going to support PS 3.0 but I was given the wrong information. They do support PS 2

We where told at MOHPA community day, that TC's (total conversions) could write their own PS if they wanted to.

Mod tools and documentation will be released with the game.
The Linux dedicated server will be released. They are shooting for the original date or day after.

Ours is not. Dual Xeon Server running two Spearhead servers (Rifle's Only and More Powerful Weapons) as well as a Battlefield Vietnam Server. So, MoH:PA/2xSH/BFV and still at between 20 to 25% load.

I looked at some of them screens in your forum as well rudedog, with regard to some of the users memory usage. We are less than half of what some of them screen shots are showing.

Our admin is wondering what the deal is because we are not having the same problems some of your guys are having. He joined your MOHAdmin forum as well and is trying to get in contact with you to see whats up.

Till then, you are welcome to see for yourself. Just lookup (TNT)Blowout in MoH:PA or (TNT) in ASE for our other servers. (MoH:SH and BFV)

I think there is two kinds of lag, PS2.0 lag and server lag. When I run PS2.0 shaders I can get up to 75fps, but it drops to 30 in many places, plus the mouse seems slugish and the aim all over the place. Many have complained of the same. I see this even when I create my own server with no one else in the game.

If I use PS1.1 its smooth as silk with the FPS in the 90's 80% of the time. The mouse is responsive and the aim is much better. Of course its graphics look like the orginal MOHAA.

I have a good box, 3.4ghz P4, gig of DDR400, and a 6800GT.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

It seems that two things are going on. screen lag ( which is causing mouse lag) and cpu usage.

For the mouse lag, try lowering your res just to see if that helps. I have a very beefy box and had to drop it down a notch.

It also seems that Intel boxes can handle the game much better. I think it has something to do with being optimized for hyper threading.

Btw, is there an explanation why FSAA doesn't work in this game? I've asked this a while ago on the EA forums but never got an answer.

I don't know. I will ask today.

Your not going to like the answer but here it is:

From one of the MOHx engineers

It is our post FX that are the reason we do not support FSAA. The hardware that does Post FX is the same hardware that would do FSAA. It is, unfortunately, not possible to do both without a gigantic framerate hit.

I just snagged a copy of the DVD edition, even if it lags a little I can wait for a patch to smooth things over. Hopefully while playing the missions they will have a patch ready for online use.

They are working on that right now. They have the mouse lag fixed and are working on the network and server load issues
