Arrow 1400x1050 @ 75HZ resolution not possible?

hi folks!

i ve experienced a irritating problem :

with the open source "nv" driver i can get the mentioned resolution
(1400x1050 at Vrefresh 75Hz) using the plug-and-play informations that my monitor gives to the video board (DCC / EDID).

but with the proprietary "nvidia" driver i can't get that resolution anyway! ... even disabling EDID (Option "UseEdidFreq" "False"). in Xorg.0.log says that this resolution need a 320 length sync, but the maximum allowed by the "nvidia" driver is 256. there any ways of bypassing this stupid validation ?

note: I am NOT using laptop or LCD panel as the README from nvidia explain a related issue....

someone have related problem? or better, the fix?!?

thanks in advance

I remember having the same problem about a year ago. Never figured out why. I think their driver just doesn't like it. BTW 4k stacks with the nvidia kernel module is not a good idea.

The resolution 1400x1050 is mostly for LCD and the modes nvidia is probing for is probably only 60Hz. Try can create your own modeline with gtf.
