Default LINUX mandrake poor graphics

Hello All
I am new to Linux and have installed Linux Mandrake 9
I have a nvidea g2 graphics card it works fine but the graphics in the arcade games are awfull only one or two frames a second, it would appear I need a new driver but it sounds very complicated to install one.
Would anybody be kind enough to talk me through the installation one step at a time!
Thanks ever so much John

rpm --rebuild NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.src.rpm
rpm --rebuild NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.src.rpm

Then go to the /usr/src/RPM/RPMS/i586

rpm -Uvh NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.rpm
rpm -Uvh NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.rpm

and then change the driver in the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (if needed) Section "Device" Driver "nv"needs to be changed to "nvidia"

thats it
