Default TNT2 M64/64 Pro + NVIDIA drivers > 5336 + xawtv -> My computer freezes

I have a TNT2 M64/64Pro card and I use Knoppix (debian). Well, I've tried nvidia drivers > 5336 - 6029, 6111, etc - on kernels 2.4.27, 2.6.7 and 2.6.9, and whenever I run xawtv with those drivers, I can see the image of the TV but my computer freezes in 2 or 3 seconds -I can't either move the cursor or Ctrl+Alt+Supr since then.

With 5336, it works perfectly, but FPS for this driver are much lower than with 6111 on my PC.

I can't offer any log file because as the PC freezes, no message is displayed. I'd like to know what you recommend me to do. Taztv doesn't freeze my computer, but I can't manage to use it. My TV card is #72, and my tuner #5, if it matters.

Thank you very much!

I've also tried xawdecode as it was recommended for a similar issue, but I still have the same problem. It freezes after a few seconds.

For whom may interest, I fixed it by setting capture mode as grabdisplay. It no longer freezes.

$ xdtv -capture grabdisplay

I didn't need -noxv option.
