Default Suse 9.1 64bit and Nvidia onboard ethernet problems

Hi folks, trying Linux once again for the nth time of walking away from it :-| and now have a distro where I can't even get on the 'net :-(

I have downloaded and "run" the installer from the nvidia site and when I do a "listmod" nvnet appears in the list, however "modprobe nvnet" returns nothing - anyone know what I can do to get the onboard ethernet to work in Suse???

Bw my mobo is an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum running an A64 3000 Winchester

Thanks

Hello,

since yesterday, i have the same mainboard. I installed 9.2 and had the same problem that yast didn't see the second nic. But i see at shutdown, that eth0 AND eth1 are there. So, when i will come home, i will test more things :-)
Did you done a "ifconfig -a" in a shell? Please tell me, if you a linux prof or new in linux, so i can help you in a better way ;-)

Hi,

today i tested it, how to bring the second nic online. It's easy (with SuSE 9.2). In yast, go to nic-configuration and select "other" to configure. In section "modules" type "forcedeth" manually in. That's it.

hth
