Default Acer Aspire 1362 and graphic-drivers for X.org

I have a small problem I hope somebody can help me with:

My new laptop, a Aspire 1362, has no good graphic at all. When I try the nvidia-drivers from www.nvidia.com they will not work:
(II) NVIDIA X Driver 1.0-6629 Wed Nov 3 13:14:07 PST 2004
(II) NVIDIA Unified Driver for all NVIDIA GPUs
(II) Primary Device is: PCI 01:00:0
(EE) No devices detected.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

I have checked the /dev/-directory, and there are nvidia-devices, and the nvidia-module is loaded.
Is it so that my graphic-card is not supported by the nvidia-drivers or is there any other wrong?

I am running the latest Xorg, and I am running Debian with kernel 2.6.9

(I am not good at english, so excuse my spelling and grammer-wrongs...)
