Default Asus FX5700 TV Dual Display?

Hi

Has anyone got dual display (eg clone) going with an Asus V9570 FX5700 using a CRT and a TV?

I've heard that some boards don't support this - they only support dual VGA output. So I want to make sure the asus cards do it before I buy...

thanks

You are correct. Some OEMs tie the TV encoder to one of the ports on NVIDIA cards, other OEMs allow the TV encoder to swap. This means that your ASUS 5700 might do <DVI+TV> but not <VGA+TV>, while your friends MSI 5700 might do <VGA+TV> but not <DVI+TV>, and my eVGA might do both <VGA+TV> or <DVI+TV>.

So if you can't get TV to work at the same time as one of the ports on a particular ASUS card, try to get TV plus the alternate port working.
