Hello, I have a problem for install the new drivers on my mandrakelinux 10.1 official there is the nvidia installer log :

Is this problem a regression from 1.0-6111? If not, please verify that /usr/src/linux contains the correct kernel sources.

i have urpme kernel-source and retype urpmi kernel-source ( and it install from CD4). But always the same behavior unable to load nvidia.o .

And yes i have 61.11 before but not kernel modified, it is the nvidia modified nv.c in 61.11 installer.

I have resolve the problem, in fact in mdk 10.1 in init 3 mode when i type urpmi kernel-source , it install kernel source for 2.4 !!!!.

I have managed real kernel source in MCC in init 5 mode and after i retry in init 3. And It works well !

Doesn't care aboout my post

Interesting. Thank you for your update, I had been worried that nvidia-installer misdetected the Linux kernel version.

how do i do it?
wat init 3 and init 5
where to i get the kernel source?

i install mine direct from the my mandrake disc.. did i did it wrongly?

in termial just type: "init 3" or "init 5" and hit enter...

@GoRiLLa: yes, it seems he was able to resolve the problem by (re-)installing the kernel source package in runlevel 5 before reattempting the installation in runlevel 3; you'll need to be root to reinstall the kernel source package.
