I'm looking for a new video card. I can't really spend more than $150 so I'm pretty much limited to an FX 5700 256mb (not the LE, but the full 5700)
I've found quite a few for that price, but I can't find any info on core and memory speeds - not even at the card maker's site. I know that the Gainward is clocked at 425/550. Are they all pretty much the same? I can order a Sparkle FX 5700 256mb right now, but I don't want to order it without knowing the speeds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

If you can get a 5700Ultra 128mb then you should probably get that instead.
Here's a review of Asus’ version of that card. The tech specs for it seem to be: Core: 425MHz Mem: 2x250MHz For an 5700U128 they are: Core: 475MHz Mem: 2x475MHz

is there no way for you to buy the msi 5900xt?
over here the 5700 256 mb and 5900xt are the same price, and a 5900 kills any 5700

The clocks vary depending on LE, Ultra, etc. Here are some of our reviews on the 5700
and 5900 cards, the first page of these will have the clocks: http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/bfg_ge...ra/index.shtml http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/galaxy...ra/index.shtml http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/chaint...ee/index.shtml http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/inno3d...ra/index.shtml http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/bfg_ge...ra/index.shtml

Save up for a 6600 GT. It doesn't cost that much more, and you'll be far more happy with that card in the end.

Thanks for all the replies guys. But I went to the dark side. I found a Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb in my price range.
Right now I have an FX 5200 An easy-bake oven has more power than that thing. |

At the expense of visual effects, this improves performance drastically on Geforce FX cards. I haven't seen any real difference in visual quality but people argue over that.
