OOps... sorry for the misunderstading about Doom 3's multiplayer guys.

Here is the collectors edition page at EB Games:
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/255324.asp

Single player, online multiplayer and XBox Live! exclusive Co-Op mode for D3. Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 have deathmatch and co-op in 2-4 player split screen modes.

Its still going to be great though

All the textures in PC Doom 3 are 256x256. I wonder what they are on the Xbox? Possibly compressed like hell.

I can't wait to see what game using D3's engine, with 1024x1024 specular, color, diffuse and normal map and high polygon models, and utilizing the wonderful shader interface included in the engine as well.

Anyway, yeah the engine and game seem to be pretty damn scalable.

What are you talking about when you say the textures are only 256 X 256 for the PC version of Doom 3? They are much higher than this unless somehow everything I've been reading is completely wrong, which I doubt.

Yeah, 256x256 seems really low, I thought the low setting was at LEAST 512x512. We'll have to see what the textures on the Xbox version look like when viewed on a standard TV, actually the blurryness of analog TVs might cover up some of the low res textures.

From playing the multiplayer a bit at E3 I would say it looks very good and I didn't notice any blurriness. Of course this was before I played the PC version, was in a convention center where there was strange lighting, and played on top of the line TVs. I will tell you that it is easily one of the best-looking Xbox games.

As for the texture thing, I looked this up again to make sure I wasn't going crazy and sure enough on low settings id software clearly states that textures 512 X 512 bigger are compressed. This proves the textures are much larger than 256 X 256 like I had thought. Here's the link:

Funny, how in the other thread he told me:

Please get your facts straight. I've thoroughly researched the Doom 3 engine versus CryEngine etc... and I don't talk out of my ass.

I've looked at most of the textures myself. Most are 256x256.

Mostly character body textures are 512x512. But character heads and environments are 256x256

People who want to play coop

Not to mention for as weak as the Xbox is, it would probably still play Doom 3 better than my current XP2000/GF3 system. Especially with the stupid issues I had with the AGP Aperture thing, bah.

What did you guys expect? It's running on a nVidia GPU after all. Doom3 and nVidia go hand in hand.
