Default Battle for Middle Earth patch

I don't recall anyone posting about this, so I will. The patch came out 1/17. I fired up the game for the first time since 1/5 just now and played again. It was so much fun, just like I remembered.

It seems as though the AA bug is fixed. I played with 4xAA and 16xAA with no problems and the game looked better than ever.

There are a few new maps, too.

Stopped playing this game 2 months ago. Good to see they cleared up the AA bug though.

I just had a blast finishing the good campaign. I'm taking a short break and then going to start with Isengard/Mordor. The Minas Tirith mission was awesome!

It's too bad online play sucks though. It's laggy and most of the players quit given any sign that they might lose of their first large attack fails. It's annoying as hell.

I'm having a blast just playing against the computer.

I really, really, REALLY wish this game was WC3 style in that you could build wherever you wanted to. That would add so much to the game.

Yeah it would.. There isn't as much room for strategy with the fixed points, and it feels kind of dumbed down for casual RPG players. The brilliant combat makes up for it though, the animation and sound effects are fantastic.

Yeah, I agree...the units all look SPECTACULAR.

I keep playing Mordor just because the units kick so much ass. Cave trolls, Mumakills, Nazgul on Fell Beasts...so. frickin. awesome.

I use Rohan usually, the cavalry charges are brilliant.

I'm starting to use Gondor though, their defensive capability is excellent.

Did they fix the quicker resources thing? As Mordor you can create free warrior orcs (I think it was them) and then send them into the slaughterhouses and build up resources quicker... figured they would fix that for online playing... but I guess it could be considered a strategy :\.

I dunno...I've never done that. I didn't even know you could, honestly.

Yeah I found it out one time by accident while playing a skirmish... I accidently sent my units in and started seeing some resources going up. So I tested it out more and built a few slaughter houses and orc pits right next to each other. It is slow at first... but it is still extra resources and whenever the orc pit gets up to level 3 you will churn those little guys out pretty fast. I was sad you couldn't set a checkpoint to send them right in there lol.
