Default nvidia + ntpd -> crash?

When playing games that uses the nvidia driver my system freezes. I am not sure that its a nvidia bug, but I found this post on the kernel list that

I am writing this post to ask if a workaround has been found and to ask if I can be helpful. When I play bzflag I get a total system freeze, crash every hour or half hour.

Please paste the output of ``dpkg -l ntp\*|grep ii''

I run 1.0-4191 with:

ii ntp 4.1.1b-3 Daemon and utilities for full NTP v4 timekee
ii ntp-simple 4.1.1b-3 NTP v4 daemon for simple systems

just fine (Sid).

here running ntpd with ver. 4191 on rh80, no problems

try version 4191 (i can see that you're not running it because of NVdriver )

Hmm perhaps I should try writing /etc/init.d/ntpdate stop before playing, but today I am a little busy
