I have installed debian sarge on my Gigabyte GA-7N400S-L motherboard (nforce2 series). Then I installed the nvidia display drivers for linux and nforce unified drivers for linux. When I use skype (free telephony program), I hear acute sounds.. The driver is correctly installed, because I hear sound seeing movies with noatun..

Default Re: skype and nforce drivers

Is it a constant high pitch whine you hear? Trying passing "no-hlt" option to the kernel, I believe it can help.

I have the same problme under Mandrake 10.1 (Kernel 2.8.6). I've just installed the new driver from NVidia. But , as before, I have the same poor sound under Skype. How can I do? Do I haveto recompile the kernel?
