Default Xcomposite with Riva TNT card

I have a Riva TNT 2 card with 32 MB memory. When I start xcompmgr, my system performs sluggishly. I want to know if my configurations are wrong or my card is too old to support all these fancy things.

I am using latest drivers with xorg 6.8. My xorg.conf has

Section "Device"
BoardName "RIVA TNT2 Model 64"
BusID "1:0:0"
Driver "nvidia"
Identifier "Device[0]"
Screen 0
VendorName "NVidia"
Option "RenderAccel" "true"
Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true"
EndSection

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

Default Re: Xcomposite with Riva TNT card

I'm not fully sure but I thought that acceleration for the render extension is not available for TNT cards.
