Default X dies with FX5200-AGP( had GeForce2MX400-AGP )

I built a dual-head Linux system and all was working fine until I tried swapping out the GeForce2 MX400 AGP card for a new GeForce FX5200 AGP card. Now, X won't start on that card. I figured it would be a dropin replacement since I was running the lastest Nvidia drivers....

I originally had no modlines in the XF86Config-4 file and just the H/V sync settings for my monitors along with the preferred resolutions and color depth so I figured there'd be no problems. For the heck of it, I tried booting GameKnoppix on this system and it booted X ok but would not do 1280x1024 and only did something like 1152x8??. Still, it worked so I knew the card would work. I even copied the XF86Config-4 monitor settings and modlines to the dual-head boot system and still it would not work.

Anybody have an idea of why this is chocking on my dual-head system or what else I can try to get this to work? The XFree86.0.log posts no ERRORS and a few WARNings. The only WW that looks interesting is the one where it says it found Multiple displays connected, and only one is allowed.

Attached is the nvidia-bug-report generated after I cleared XFree86.0.log and then tried to run X with "startx -- -logverbose 5".

Well, I have it almost working. I found that an option entry with CRT-0 was needed for some reason though I would have thought at CRT-0 would have been a smart default...

From what I understand, the 5200 is a dual card with both ports on the DVI-I connector and CRT-0 on the SVGA connector.

Now, if I can only get the 1280x1024 resolution that the old GeForce2 MX provided....
