Just in case someone actually believed this... Not true.

Really? They had SM3.0 when they demo'ed UE3 in 2003? Hell, even HDR was added into the later demos, and wasn't in originally.

So SM3.0 was added later, again, before the first E3 2004 public showing.

Do you care to provide proof that you're right and Intel's wrong? Or do you expect us to just believe you?

If you couldn't care less, then why are you even posting?

I thought I made this clear... I couldn't care less what you think of me, but I wouldn't want someone to get a wrong impression from another forum member pretending to be something he isn't or pretending to have knowledge he doesn't.

Only computer nerds like ourselves could take this polite and innocent thread and start heaving **** at one another. Contribute to the thread or can it already.

All I'm trying to say is that why should we believe you over Intel? If you're going to say someone is wrong about something, you need to back it up with a little proof. Or at least something more than "Really. You don't have a clue what you are talking about." I'm not saying that Intel is right, or that you're right, because I really have no clue whatsoever. Anyways, you don't need to respond to this and I realize you don't care what I think.

Ok then, enough on that subject. Back to the topic of this thread. So, about those Unreal 3 SpeedTree Shots....

Heh, I think the bathroom looks too clean to be real.
I think this is one of the biggest problems that cg has. For it to look "real", it can't be perfect. There is nothing in this world that is perfect so to say. And there are no patterns to this unperfectness. When someone figures out how to mimic this in a game, it will be a huge step towards realism.
